Bonnie Terry, M. Ed., BCET, Board Certified Educational Therapist #10167, currently is the director of Bonnie Terry Learning, a private learning center. In 2000, she was named in the Who’s Who of Professional Educators, she teaches students from Pre-K – 12.
Bonnie Terry, M. Ed., a Learning Disabilities Specialist and Board Certified Educational Therapist, has been teaching for over 35 years. She is a former Faculty Associate of Illinois State University. Fifteen years ago she opened up her private learning center in Auburn and since has taught hundreds of local students reading, writing, and math in her after school learning center. She uses a diagnostic approach, finding out why a student is having difficulty with reading, writing, or math and then designs individual curriculum to remediate their specific needs.
Fifteen years ago Bonnie also began publishing her materials, making them available to others. She is an author of numerous books, games, and reference guides to teach reading, spelling, English, writing, and math. They are currently being used both nationally and internationally. Her books, games, and guides are distributed by 12 national education catalogs (Academic Therapy, Remedia Publications, Bright Apple, etc.). In 2003, The Old Schoolhouse Magazine named Bonnie’s company, Bonnie Terry Learning, Special Needs Company of the Year. The National Parochial Schools Association endorsed all of Bonnie’s books, games, and guides for their special needs students in 2006.
Bonnie also speaks both nationally and internationally on reading and writing. A high point was being a speaker on mainland China on reading and writing, being part of the Literacy Education Delegation, one of 30 educators chosen from the U.S. for an exchange of teaching reading practices.
Bonnie is a contributing writer for several education journals including CEC Today, Education Update, LDA-CA, The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, Homeschooling Parent, Parent’s Monthly, and The LINK Newspaper and website.
Bonnie’s Five Minutes to Better Reading Skills was named a bestseller for the fourth year in a row by Remedia Catalog.
